Job Description

We are a respected practice looking to recruit an Insolvency Administrator. In this role you will be involved in the general day to day running of various corporate and personal insolvency cases.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own case load that will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Assisting the manager &/or partner in preparing for meetings
  • Dealing with IVA proposals
  • Interviewing Directors & Bankrupts
  • Preparing Directors’ Conduct Reports
  • Procedural matters such as filing, reporting, document preparation and statutory compliance
  • The accounting requirements of individual cases
  • Basic investigations into insolvent estates
  • Completion of invoicing, debt collection and statutory returns
  • Management of case queries
  • Daily accurate recording and entry of your time on to our time management system

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the following attributes and be able to:

  • Work individually and/or in a team as the situation dictates
  • Communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, both internally and externally
  • Use initiative and problem solving techniques to deal with daily work challenges
  • Produce timely and accurate work to the accepted standard of the ThorntonRones
  • Plan workload effectively to ensure deadlines are never missed.


The salary for this role is flexible and will depend on the level of experience the candidate has but likely to be in the region of £22,000 per annum before bonus. The ideal applicant will be in a similar role at the moment working as an Insolvency Administrator, have a minimum of 2 years experience or passed CPI and enjoy working in a family run business.
