DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

Bridgewood is a financial solutions and insolvency specialist.  The company carries out a wide range of activity including personal insolvency; personal debt solutions; business recovery and accountancy services, all of which are delivered through a small but highly skilled team based in Nottingham.  The company has established a strong position within the bankruptcy trustee market, where its proposition ensures that creditors receive the maximum possible distribution out of each bankruptcy case.

Bridgewood is looking for an experienced bankruptcy administrator to support the existing team in dealing with a growing volume of bankruptcy trustee cases.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage your own caseload including; the realisation of assets; management of creditor claims; dealing with the Official Receiver; investigating cases to recover assets for creditors; writing reports to creditors
  • Provide administrative support to the Insolvency Practitioner and Senior Insolvency Manager
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post from bankrupts, creditors and courts
  • Maintain and develop relationships with creditor organisations who seek to support the appointment of the Bridgewood Insolvency Practitioner
  • Ensure that case file and supporting documents comply with company and statutory compliance requirements
  • Provide support to the Senior Insolvency Manager in administering CVLs

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week
  • There is no requirement for travel
  • Holiday entitlement is 25 days per year

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least one year’s experience in bankruptcy administration
  • Prior knowledge of the IPS insolvency case management system desirable, but not essential
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solid assessment/problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively without close supervision
  • Accurate data-entry skills
  • Ability to take instruction/feedback and act swiftly on said instruction/feedback.

ABOUT THE COMPANY & THE ROLE

Bridgewood is a financial solutions specialist providing good quality, ethical debt advice and solutions to individuals and small businesses.  The company was launched in early 2010 and has established a strong position in the market, due to its unique proposition and modus operandi – Bridgewood doesn’t carry out any advertising or direct marketing, but rather works in partnership with creditors and financial intermediaries to ensure that individuals and small businesses get the best possible help at an affordable price.

Bridgewood has achieved notable success with the pub sector, where it supports pub tenants of 3 of the largest pub companies in the UK.  With continued growth in this area Bridgewood is looking for Business Debt Advisors to develop a strong working relationship with intermediaries, including the pub companies, and delivering debt advice and solutions to clients.  Potential clients are also referred by local accountants and law firms.

The Business Debt Advice & Solutions Manager will be responsible for following up on client referrals; providing the appropriate business support and debt advice; and working closely with the delivery teams in Nottingham.  The core solutions will be CVAs and CVLs, as well as informal debt repayment plans and refinancing solutions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish contact and develop a good relationship with the client via face-to-face meetings, building trust and confidence in Bridgewood and the services we provide
  • Complete a full appraisal of the business, including level of debt and current trading performance and produce a financial forecast to help identify the options available
  • Work with the client to agree the best solution available and initiate delivery of the solution
  • Co-ordinate with the Bridgewood delivery teams to ensure that the appropriate solutions are put in place
  • Maintain an on-going dialogue with the client to ensure that the most appropriate solution is in place

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Hours of work will be 39 hours per week, but the working pattern may vary
  • The company is based in Nottingham but there is scope to be based from home
  • The candidate will need to own or have full use of a car and have a valid UK driving licence
  • Holiday entitlement is 25 days per year

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least 2 years experience in business recovery/corporate insolvency
  • A very good understanding of all the business recovery solutions available, in particular CVAs and CVLs
  • Able to interpret trading accounts and balance sheets, and produce basic cash flow forecasts using Excel
  • Good at relationship building and establishing rapport, both with clients and potential referral partners
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel
  • Solid assessment/problem-solving skills
